The Regional Advertising Director oversees all activities in print and digital advertising sales, advertising operations, and the advertising technology departments for Sample News Group media operations in Western New York. This includes Bee Group Newspapers, The Batavia Daily News, and Livingston County News. They are responsible for meeting all the business’ advertising goals and actively seeking the development of new revenue for the organization. The Director is responsible for growing market share in the business’s marketplace, which makes it a necessity that they be a strong innovative leader.
They must be highly motivated and have the capacity to motivate, lead, coach, and mentor a sales advertising force within a fast-paced business environment exceeding budgeted advertising and sales goals. The Advertising Director has vast experience in the application of both digital and print advertising.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the advertising team across print and digital, ensuring sales goals and market share growth.
- Develop and execute advertising strategies and monthly sales goals aligned with overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with editorial, circulation, production, and other departments to unify sales and marketing efforts.
- Analyze market trends and performance data to identify new revenue opportunities and provide strategic reports.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of advertising experience, with proven leadership in managing sales teams and campaigns.
- Strong background in both print and digital advertising platforms, tools, and technologies.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills; ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM platforms, with demonstrated ability to use data for decision-making.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Executive Editor to lead our editorial team into its next phase of growth. The Executive Editor will oversee and guide all editorial operations, ensuring that our news, arts, and lifestyle coverage upholds the highest journalistic standards and meaningfully serves our communities.
The ideal candidate has excellent editorial judgment and knows how to turn editorial vision into action. The candidate will also be open to new editorial approaches to engage existing readers and attract new ones — continuing the transformation of a historically print-focused newsroom into a more digital, platform-agnostic future.
This person demonstrates day-to-day newsroom leadership, maintaining high expectations, managing and coaching people, guiding story development, editing, and even writing for impact. The candidate will also foster a welcoming and inclusive work environment and collaborate across the organization to support objectives in community engagement, readership growth, advertising, and philanthropy. This person will also represent the newsroom externally — engaging with readers, community stakeholders, and, when appropriate, donors to build trust, reinforce transparency and protect editorial independence.

Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position. The salary range begins at $80,000 and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
